Emergency Office Procedures

In order to protect the health of the public and our employees due to the COVID-19 outbreak, our office will no longer be open for in person business.  We will continue to diligently fulfill our codified obligations to the public.  We can still be reached via phone or email but due to the specialized software that is used on a daily basis it is not possible for our employees to work from home and these precautions are being taken for their safety.  Therefore, non-employees will not have access to our facility with the exception of mail and delivery services effective immediately.
Additionally, access to our garage facility will be restricted as well.  Only deliveries will be permitted to enter the yard and must be called in prior to arrival.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to return to business as ususal as soon as it can safely be done for the public and our employees.

It is our mission to design, build and maintain the county's infrastructure in a fiscally responsible and accountable manner. We strive to ensure safety to the citizens of Preble County while supporting the continued growth of a strong and healthy local economy.

I was born and raised in Dixon Township south of West Florence. Growing up on a small farm raising beef cattle I was instilled with a strong work ethic and a heightened sense of responsibility. I was also very active in numerous activities, including 4-H and sports, and found out very quickly the importance of time management to balance these activities with my education. Upon graduation from high school I attended Ohio Northern University and earned a degree in Civil Engineering prior to joining the work force.

My career choice has been an interesting journey. I began in Columbus designing airports, then to Canton, followed by Dayton managing a materials testing and foundation engineering firm. Each of these stops put me closer to being back home. In 2007 this journey came full circle when I began working at the Preble County Engineer's Office.

Upon graduation from Eaton High School is 1997 I furthered my eduation at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering in 2001. I have taken additional classes in Surveying at Sinclair Community College and Cincinnati State Technical College.

I currently reside in Lakengren with my wife, Jennifer, and three sons Braden, Ethan and Dylan. We also have four dogs, Benny, Lucy, Roxie and Brutus.
